I’ve always struggled with the nagging desire to know ”who am I, what is my purpose in life and why am I here? I’ve had a variety of jobs but have never really been “happy” at what I did nor at what I had accomplished. I’ve always felt there was something missing, there was something more!
I have gone back in time, not only mentally but emotionally to research my ancestors “paths”, to collect records and their history since the mid 1970′s. According to Thesaurus.com , the word ”historian” also means a: ”student of history, annalist, chronicler, historiographer, professor, teacher, writer”. I finally know what I am suppossed to do and what truly makes me happy and that is to be the ”historian” for my family!
What started out as a hobby almost 40 years ago, now is my passion and at times my obsession. At least, I’m sure that is what my family thinks! Through the years, I have met a lot of really nice people, found new unknown relatives and made many new friends.
To everyone who has shared their research, photos, and time, I am eternally grateful, for without your contributions, I would not be where I am today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I believe in God and family above all else. I’m a sixty plus woman who still thinks she is 29 and can do anything physically, but knows better! I’m married to a wonderful guy who supports most of my whims and hobbies and I love him dearly! We live in the rolling hills of southern Iowa, just north of the Missouri border in a small community and share our home with Bear, our dog and Lil Bit, our cat. I have two wonderful grown children from an earlier marriage that have blessed me with 3 fantastic grandchildren! Love them all and wish we could visit more often but distance is a major hindrance.
My other interests are gardening, mosaics, and some decorative painting. I enjoy reading anything by Steve Hamilton, James Rollins and Kay Hooper. My music tastes are pretty varied. I love listening to the birds sing, and watching the dragonflies buzz by. Just sit and watch the world and marvel in what life has to offer!
Be sure to leave a comment if you found an error or just have a question or found something of interest and of course, let me know if we’re related!
Thanks for stopping by!
